Our Statement
of Faith
We
believe that
the Bible is God's Word and that is was written by men uniquely and
divinely
inspired, and that it is inerrant and infallible in its autographs. It
is our only and all sufficient rule of faith and practice (II Timothy
3:16).
We
believe that
there is only one true and living God, manifesting Himself in three
persons:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, yet one in essence and in power. We
believe
God is the creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite
in
wisdom, and measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns Himself
mercifully
in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayers and that He
saves
from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
We
believe in
Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born
of the virgin Mary, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sin
of
the world by His death on the cross. We believe in His bodily
resurrection,
His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession for His people and
His personal, visible return to the world according to His
promise.
We
believe in
the personhood of the Holy Spirit and His ministry to reveal Christ to
men, to convict them of sin in order to effect repentance, and inspire
faith in Christ for the regeneration of their souls and the
sanctification
of their conduct.
We
believe that
the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ and
indwells
the believer to work in Him the sovereign purpose of God's grace.
We
believe that
all men by nature and by choice are sinners, but that 'God so loved the
world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life'. We believe therefore,
that
those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior will rejoice forever
in
God's presence and those who refuse to accept Christ as Lord and Savior
will be forever separated from God.
We
believe in
the church - a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and of
which all "regenerated" people are members. We believe that a local
visible
church is a company of believers joined in a credible confession of
faith,
and associated for worship, work, and fellowship to the greater glory
of
God.
We
believe that
this church must be free from interference of any ecclesiastical of
political
authority.
